my students & I get dropped during online WyzAnt lessons too. I’ve tried many things and contacted wyzant many times. I think part of the problem is the Wyzant server. Just can’t handle it.

asked 10/22/19Why does my WIFI keep turning off / disconnecting by itself?
i don't know whether its a adapter problem or my router problem but i keep on disconnecting from my wifi, when i try to reconnect it shows that all the WIFI signals have no signal whats so ever and the only way to fix it (temporarily) is to reset my adapter.
Things I've done to try and fix this issue:
- resetting my PC
- updating my adapter driver(s)
- changing WIFI

If any of the previous answers did not resolve your issue, sounds to me like it's simple DNS problem. Make sure your network connection has proper settings. You can reset to default and try that. If that doesn't help, are you sure your proxy is setup correctly? Are you/do you need one? I know for me, sharing a hotspot from my mobile to laptop with PDAnet, a proxy is required for proper usage. Without it, I get wifi drops and data hangups/freezing.
I hope this helped!

Most likely it's a problem with the adapter. Try replacing it and see what happens. Not being able to so much as scan WiFi networks is unrelated to bandwidth or number of devices connected.

Hi Isaac.
I sometimes lose my wifi connection too. It could be hardware related, but it sounds like you have checked that already. There are several possible explanations.
Is your computer doing automatic updates while you are trying to do other things? That one drives me crazy! When that happens, I can't get anything done on the machine without cancelling the updates, and that means I have to go back and manage them manually.😫
The next possibility: How many devices are on the wifi when you lose the signal?
I know that at my house, I have potentially 3 smart phones, 1 smart tv, 1 streaming stick, 2 tablets and 3 laptop computers that may all being trying to connect at once. Oh, I almost forgot, a PS4 also!
I find that if the smart tv is connected, I have trouble getting the streaming stick to stay connected. If the PS4 is online, forget it! No other devices are going to get a steady signal because the PS4 is a wifi hog.🐷
Since I only have 45 mb, the system just can't handle all of my devices. When things are reset, everyone is dumped and has to reconnect, so everyone has a chance to get on. But it is still first come, first served and somebody is not going to be able to reconnect.
My advice would be to try and shut down (not standby) any devices that don't need to be active on the wifi. If phones are on unlimited data plans, they don't need to be on wifi too unless they are updating or downloading apps. If that solves the problem, then you know what causes the disconnect.
If that makes no difference, the next thing to try is changing your location. Wifi signals can have trouble going through certain physical barriers like walls with wiring in them or stone walls. Adding an access point (wifi extender) can "shoot" around obstacles in your home and provide a more stable connections. If that works, great! 🧱
Lastly, I would try a hard connection, ethernet right into your modem. Wif signals get weaker the further they have to travel and a wifi extender could help here too. 💻
But it might also be that you just do not have enough internet for what you are trying to do. Like you will really have a hard time streaming hi-def with 6 mb. If that is the case, you might need to upgrade your internet speed. ⚡
Hope this helps.
