This question actually can be googled in French. With the right question you will find the answer in the first listing. But the data is from 1852 to the early 1900's. The reason for that is explained in the document below, but essentially France was still too divided, both by feudal territories and by different monetary systems to be able to make much sense of it. You can read the document, and choose the time frame, the industry and the territory that you eel provides the best answer. There is more than one answer to this question.

• Cochers, conducteurs d'omnibus, camionneurs : 5,75 francs par jour pour 16 heures de travail (soit 18,42 euros, valeur 01/01/2002).

• Employés de bazars : 5 francs par jour pour 15 à 17 heures de travail, selon la saison et les exigences de la vente.

• Garçons de café et de restaurants : ne sont pas payés et vivent seulement de leurs pourboires, ils travaillent 16 heures par jour de huit heures à minuit.
