the balanced equation: 2HNO3(aq)+Sr(OH)2(aq)———>2H2O(I)+Sr(NO3)2(aq)
the completed ionic equation: 2H+ + 2NO3 + Sr2+ + 2OH- ----> 2H2O(I) + Sr2+ + 2NO3
you don't break pure solid, liquid or gas, and weak electrolytes in the completed ionic equation, cancel out the spectator ions, NO3 , Sr2+ . You have the net ionic equation as following.
2H+ (aq) + 2OH- (aq) -----> 2H2O(I) simplify it as H+ (aq) + OH- (aq) -----> H2O(I)
