Hi Theresa--thanks for rephrasing the question.

 

So the number of mysteries has to be greater than 4 x 10  (40) and less than 5 x 10 (50). In other words, somewhere between 41 and 49. (Let's assume it should be a whole number, since you probably would not have a partial book!)

 

Which means that the total number of books can be anywhere from 3 x 41 to 3 x 49, or 123 to 147.
