We first find the conversion factor a pint. Looking this up on-line, I found 1 pint = 473.2 mL. (Usually in textbooks they have conversion factors at the end of the book. On tests and homework, they should give these to you.) Now we find the volume:
0.120 pint (473.2 mL/ 1 pint) = 56.784 mL.
Next we find the mass of the syrup by subtracting the final container's mass from the initial mass: 182.48 g - 115.25 g = 67.23 g
Now we divide the mass by the volume:
67.23 g/ 56.784 ml = 1.18 g/mL
