A jet is flying at 500 mph. The jet passes by the plane, who was only going 200 mph and had a 2 hour head start. How far from the starting point are they?

The plane travels T+2

500T = 200(T+2)

500T = 200T + 400

300T = 400

T = 4/3

500(4/3) = 2000/3 = 666 and 2/3

200(4/3 + 2) = 200( 4/3 + 6/3) = 200(10/3) = 2000/3 = 666 and 2/3
