Are Fortran, Cobol, Basic and Forth high level programming languages? And if not, what where the first high level programming languages? Which were the first object-oriented languages?

All these languages can be considered high-level with different degrees of popularity and use. We can consider Fortran the first high-level programming language used widely. Simula is generally accepted as being the first language with the primary features of an object-oriented language, although the spread of this paradigm came with the use of hybrid languages like C++ or Delphi (Pascal)
