x is the amount of 55% juice

y is the amount of 80% juice

Then translate English to math.

x(.55) + y(.80) = 30(.75)

and since there are two unknowns, we will need two equations.

x + y =30

Use either of the two methods (elimination or substitution) to solve two equations and two unknowns and you will get

x = 6 and y = 24
