So complementary angles are angles whose sum equals 90 degrees.
The cofunctions mean that the complementary sum of the angles of a sin and cosine function will equal the same.
For example: Sin (45) and Cos (45) both equal sqrt(2) / 2 and their angles total to 90 degrees.
So now you have Cos (56) = Sin (?)
Now we just 90 - 56 = 34
Therefore, Cos (56) = Sin (34)
