From the start it would be of great help to create a unique file name for the document with a short, but memorable name you will recognize quickly.
EXAMPLE:
I save many photo files in any given week. I will save them with a name such as "WindingRiver101520 FB". This tells me the name of the picture, the date, and a clear indicator of its relative size (FB has specific optimum sizes for posting).
You can certainly use any other variables - just keep in mind you want it to be a name that gives you:
- identifying information (title & date; I prefer 6 digit numbers for brevity)
- brevity/compactness
Use the name of your file as efficiently as you can so that you will find it quickly. Practice it a few times.
Secondly, remember to use FOLDERS effectively. My preference is to always use all caps for FOLDERS. This is just one more short cut for me because I will visually recognize a FOLDER much more quickly in all caps, as distinguished from a File.
