Pi is called a mathematical constant. A constant is a number that expresses something that does not change. Pi is the ratio (the constant relationship) between any circle's Circumference and its diameter. Kinda cool huh? That this relationship would ALWAYS be true? ! In any circle, no matter what size it is!
π = Circumference
Diameter
The approximate value of pi is 3.14159 but it is a number whose decimal never ends and has no predictable pattern. We call this an "irrational" number. But we usually use the approximation of 3.14 for pi.
