asked 12/17/14How much should each employee get?
I have $5,504.00 dollars. I have 5 full time employees and 8 part time employees. The part time employees get half of what the full time employees get. How much should each employee get?

P = Part time
Full time = 2P
$5,504.00 = 5(2P)+8P
5504=10P+8P
5504=18P
P=$305.78
F=2P=$611.56
Check 5(611.56)+8(305.78)=5504.04
This was a weird problem, because the numbers didn't end up exact. If this were a real world situation, I would probably pay the full time employees $600 and the part time $300, for a total of $5400, and pocket the extra $104, ;) .
