Hi Alice!
For this question, it's important to be able to turn words into equations.
We have two numbers whose sum is 19. One of the numbers is "c", the other let's call "x". So c + x = 19
But we want the other number x in terms of c. Or, in other words, we want to get x by itself and have it expressed using only numbers and the variable c. We can do that by taking the equation above (c + x = 19) and subtracting c from both sides. We then have x = 19 - c
Hope this helps!
