If I make 6% in straight commission and offered another job that pays $230 per week plus 4% of the sales. How much will I have to sell in a week in order for the straight commission offer to be at least as good?

Break even point is when .06x = 230 +.04x

.02x=230

x=50(230)=11500 x = amount of sales

Total sales have to be at least $11,500

6% of $11,500 = $690

4% of $11,500 = $460 $460+$230=$690

Sell less than $11,500 and you'd make more money with the salary and 4% commission

Say you sell only $11,000

then at 6% you'd earn $660

at 4% you'd earn $440 $440+$230 = $670 > $660
