What would your response be if someone were to claim that religion is becoming outdated in the modern society?

Hi guys, a little tired so I will keep the question brief, but basically, I'm wondering what your argument would be if one were to claim that religion, or at least monotheistic religions, are becoming obsolete in 2018. I'd love your responses! I genuinely would like to hear the counter-argument purely, without any debate. Feel free to talk about anything remotely relevant, I love reading anyway.

The question seems a bit vague to me. In what way does the questioner see this obsolescence? How does it seem obsolete?

As a scientific model to understand the cosmos?

As a driving force in political debate?

As a serious consideration in moral debates/ issues?

As a anthropological phenomenon similar to rain-dancing or other ways of life?

As a potentially evolutionarily adapted part of our brain that may be diminishing (or strengthening)?
