Math uses symbols in the place of words. For example, = stands for equals.
Here, we need to use the symbol <. This stands for |ess than.
So, if we want to say in math that "A number B is less than 12", we would write: B < 12.
If we wanted to say in math that "A number B is more than 12," then we would write: B > 12.
