Until the Enlightenment, everybody accepted the existence of God because no one dared question that a Supreme Being was the natural God of the world and universe. Even the fact that we all have a conscience, a sense of good and evil, was proffered as an argument for divine existence. Creation and conscience, however were only proofs of a natural God's existence. Christians maintained that the Holy Bible, emphasizing God enfleshed, crucified and risen give someone saving knowledge of God. With the Enlightenment all Christian tenets were under attack by philosophers like Nietszche, who said, "God is dead, we invented Him and we killed Him!"
Modern people often cite man's inhumanity to man as proof that God doesn't exist, otherwise, if He was good, He would intervene. This specious argument usually comes from atheists who hate God and carry a deep grudge against him! I ask you this, since atheists hate God so much, are there any real atheists? Is it possible not to believe in Someone they hate? The answer is "No." As Holy Scripture says, " Even the demons believe, and tremble. "
