As a practicing Jew, I can say that the synagogue is not the only place for one to find salvation. Yes, there are some Jewish sects which preach that prayer in a synagogue setting is the only location which can ensure eternal praise and safety. However, in Egalitarian, Reconstructionist, Reform, and even Open Orthodox circles, it is clear that salvation can be reached in many ways. What even is salvation? Is it related to the afterlife? Is it something received on Earth? No one knows. Many Jewish sects do not even believe in hell. So how can salvation exist if there is no other option?
The best way to practice Judaism is to be an individual guided by a moral compass. It is to care about others. It is to pursue social justice. It is to be human. The synagogue is not the only place where one can find humanity.
