Cell Potential or Ecell is a measure of the difference in potential energy between the anode and cathode (in J/C or Volts) for an electrochemical cell. E cell is always calculated as Ecathode-Eanode and if Ecell is positive this means that the reaction is spontaneous and if Ecell is negative that means that specific reaction is non-spontaneous.
