What do Christians imagine the Holy Spirit to be?

Evangelical Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is part of the "triune" God - that God is made up of the Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit and are co-equal parts of the same being that serve different purposes.

The Holy Spirit is the part of God that dwells inside of and influences Christians who accept the Gospel and are saved. He is called "the comforter" in the book of Acts.
