Why does God control our lives?

I said to my homeroom teacher (11th and 12th grade homeroom teacher) how would he feel if I never get married and he said that I don't know because I said that I would never get married but I could get married. Why did God make some people married even though they said that they never want to get married? By the way, my mom said that she said that she didn't want to have children but now she does.

From the perspective of the Bible, specifically the New Testament, God does not make people get married. It is a matter of personal choice (1 Corinthians 7). Marriage is a gift from God (Eph 5:23-33), but if one chooses not to marry, God loves you just the same.
