A medical degree is from a particular type of graduate program that is often classified as a "professional" school. However, it is post-graduate in the sense that it is after an undergraduate program. In the strictest sense, it is a graduate school. However, typically, in everyday speech and discussion, "graduate school" refers to Master's programs and PhD programs.
A significant distinction is that a "professional" degree or program is required for medical school, but such a degree may not be required for other fields. For example, I have a Master's in Writing, but it is not required by law to practice writing or to teach writing. A medical degree, however, is required by law in order to move forward with testing and licensing in order to become a physician, even if one ends up never practicing medicine.
