Is '들어는 봤어요' a good general way to say 'I've heard of it'?

I was wanting to say that I'd heard of (but not actually seen) a TV series. A friend suggested '들어는 봤어요'. Is this a good general way to say 'I've heard of it'? (I can't find 'heard of' in daum or naver dictionaries). Is '어는 보다' an ending form that can be used with other verbs?

On top of that, the particle “는” is not a topic particle. It is more like “Contrary”. So it should translate like “ I have heard of it though or I have heard of it but” e.g. 들어는 봤어요= Probably means 본적은 없어요 which translates to “ Have not seen but” P.S ~ 는 보다 does come from sort of a “ 유행어: 살려는 드릴께~ Meaning “ I will not kill you( and that is the most I could do, meaning I may hurt you real bad or even break your leg but make sure you won’t die). So “ verb+ 는 conjugation endings became popular for everyone to say ( as if they would feel like they are that well known actor who mentioned it in the movie) Adding some similar verb endings, 1 살려는 드릴께 ~| 2 먹어는 줄께~ 3 놀아는 드릴께 ~ All these mean what it say but “that is all. There isnt any more or you should not expect more than what I offered “ Hope this helped:)

아니요. 김치는 먹어봤는데 김치찌개를 안먹어봤어요." (No. I have tried kimchi but I have never tried kimchi stew before.) To add one more point, while 김치를 with “ 를” sounds ok I feel that, 김치는 with “ 는” sounds more natural than 김치를 to me. I would say, 김치는 먹어봤는데 김치찌게를 안 먹어봤어요. Q 김치를 먹어봤어요? 1 김치는 안먹어봤는데 김치찌게를 먹어봤어요 2 김치는 안 먹어봤는데 김치찌게는 먹어봤어요 3 김치를 먹어봤는데 김치찌게는 안 먹어봤어요 To me, 1 and 2 sound natural but 3 sounds a just bit awkward. What are your thoughts on this, Tutors?
