Ah, the ladies. What isn't there to love? The answer you seek depends on two things: the asker and the asked.
If you are asking me, personally, then I would say that the "best qualities" of a Roman matron would be her burning, fierce love for her family. An excellent book titled Turia: A Roman Woman's Civil War, by Josiah Osgood, perfectly encapsulates the utterly astonishing qualities of Latin-speaking women. I highly recommend it.
