Strategic management is the process of setting long-term goals and planning how to achieve them. It involves analyzing the current situation, making decisions about direction, and organizing resources to move toward a desired future outcome.
It typically includes three main steps: assessing the environment (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks), developing a strategy, and then implementing and adjusting that strategy over time.
Unlike day-to-day management, which focuses on immediate tasks, strategic management is about the bigger picture—where you’re going and how you’ll get there.
In simple terms, it’s the process of turning a vision into a clear plan and making sure actions stay aligned with that plan over time.
