Helping Students Succeed
Hi,
As a rule of thumb, the more study you put into your program, the more you will succeed. From my experience, the average person should study between 12-15/per week to make satisfying grades. Here are a couple of tips you may not be aware of that can help you get the most out of your study time:
First, it is not good to study for more than one hour at a time. Students who study for more than one hour in one setting have a decreased retention level.
Secondly, if you must cram for an exam, cram for the material you do not have to remember long-term. For example, you could get away with studying for hours before a math exam that you would never have to use or remember again after the test. However, if it is a vital class to your program or the lessons build on each other, the cramming technique will most likely fail you; you will need to understand one concept before moving on, improving your memory and focus. In the latter case, studying slow is the best technique.
Best Regards,
