How much of medicine is just translating Latin? Would it be easier if medical phrases were in plain English?

It would be helpful for English speakers, but not for French speakers, or German speakers, or Japanese speakers.

Latin is used as the lingua franca of the sciences in general in order to facilitate communication between people who speak different languages, in order to make sure that everybody is on the same page.
