Good afternoon,
This would heavily depend on what grad and undergraduate schools you are comparing. For example, I know of students who did their undergrad at a local state college and were astonished at home expensive their private grad school education would cost. On the flip side, I know students who went to prestigious undergraduate schools and couldn't believe how cheap their graduate degrees would be in comparison. The best thing for you to do is to make a list of programs you are interested in and then go to their website to view how much they estimate the cost of attendance would be. You can then compare the answers yourself.

The way costs and financial aid break down are per discipline you would want to go into. As a general rule, if the graduate program you are interested in would be business, engineering, nursing, medical school, these are all skill-oriented graduate programs. If the graduate school would be in the liberal arts, then there is much less money for financial aid. Most schools provide much more aid which would include duties as a teaching assistant, researcher, etc.04/23/20
