A group of 9 friends takes a white water rafting trip. The total price of the trip is 810 dollars without discount. Each person in the group gets a student discount. The total price of the discount is 729$ how much is the discount per person?

You can find the total difference

 

810 - 729 = 81

 

now find the average

 

average discount = 81/9  = 9

 

if you want this as a percent

 

81/810  = .1 or 10% discount
