Is Hinduism "under threat"?

Apologies if this sounds very general. I lurk on many hinduism and India threads and I've noticed a trend among posters that their religion is at risk of disappearing (usually with the growth of Islam or Christianity). There's also fears that the media, politics and movie industry are Hinduphobic. This is making me wonder if all that is actually based on anything factual or is it just people creating a boogeyman to gather support for a cause?

Ariane, according to Pew Research, Hinduism is fairly stable world wide, growth rate projection of 15.2% by 2020 (Pew http://www.pewforum.org/2015/04/02/hindus/). And, in India and Nepal, Hinduism is expected to be the majority religion (as it is now). There is no evidence that Hinduism in shirking in the number adherents, I strongly suspect this is information created by people who want to circulate false information for their own gain (whatever that maybe). The best methodology with any information is to find credible sources like Pew and research the information,
