Canola Oil is 7% saturated fat.  A corn oil that is 14% saturated fat is mixed with the Canola oil, to get a blend that is 11% saturated fat.  How many gallons of corn oil must be mixed with 600 gallons of Canola oil to get that blend?

.07(600) + .14(x) = .11(600+x)

42 +.14x = 66 +.11x

.03x = 24

x = 24/.03 = 800 gallons of 14% to get 1400 gallons of 11%

you need more of 14 than of 7%, 4/3 times more

800/600 = 4/3 = (11-7)/(14-11)
