«Vive» ou «vivent» les vacances?

The word "vivent" has to follow something in the subjunctive plural which preceded it, e.g. "il faut qu ils vivent dans une maison plus grande" wheres as the word "vive" is an imperative of the verb vivre like Vive la France! or Vive la Liberte! Vive les Vacances would equate to hurray for vacations! or long live vacations!
