One of the most common types of chemical reactions in our day-to-day lives is the combustion of fuel. That is to say, burning various sources of fuel (gasoline, coal, wood, etc) and harnessing the energy that is released. Did you ride in a car or bus today? Did you cook food on a stove? Both of these are examples of processes which require energy derived from burning fuel.
Most of what we encounter in our lives has somehow been created or affected by chemical reactions. For example, the food we eat would not exist if not for several chemical reactions occurring within the original plants and animals to produce the sugars, fats, and proteins that they needed to survive. I recommend you take a look at the website under the link below - it will give you a few more ideas as well as hopefully some inspiration for others!
