Every hour the airplane travels 350 miles. So after one hour, the plane has traveled 350 miles. After two hours, the plane has traveled 350 + 350 = 700 miles. After three hours, the plane has traveled 350 + 350 + 350 = 1050 miles. At eight hours, then, the airplane has traveled 350 x 8 = 2800 miles.
