2x + y = 3
x+y = -3
Subtracting will cause the variable y to cancel:
2x - x = 3 - -3
x = 3 - -3
x = 3 + 3
x = 6
So then per 2nd equation 6 + y = -3
y = -3 - 6 = -9
Solution is (6,-9)
