4NH3 + 5O2 > 4NO + 6H2O. Balanced equation
This tells you that it takes FOUR moles of NH3 to make SIX moles of water. You want to make 18.0 grams of water. How many moles is that? 18.0 g x 1 mole/18 g = 1.0 moles of water.
So you want to make ONE mole of water. To find moles NH3 needed, it is 1 mol H2O x 4 mol NH3/6 mol H2O = 0.667 mole NH3
To find grams NH3 needed, it is 0.667 moles x 17g/mole = 11.3 g
