If I have chocolate with 75% cocoa in it and chocolate with 35% cocoa in it, how much 75% chocolate and 35% chocolate do I mix to make it 44% chocolate

0.75x + 0.35y = 0.44(x + y)

0.75x + 0.35y = 0.44x + 0.44y

0.75x = 0.44x + 0.09y

0.31x = 0.09y

So, 31 parts 75% to 9 parts 35% (or roughly a ratio of 3:1)
