Sarawongs school is selling tickets to a spring musical. On the first day of ticket sales the school sold 7 senior citizen tickets and 13 student tickets for a total of 166$. The school took in 224$ on the second day by selling 14 senior citizen tickets and 14 student tickets. Find the price of a senior citizen ticket and the price of a ticket.

Let S = Cost of STUDENT ticket and A = cost of SENIOR ticket

First day: 13S + 7A = 166

2nd day 14S + 14 A = 224

Divide second day equation by 2 and subtract from 1st day equation

6S = 54

S=9

In the 1st day equation substitute the value of S=9

117+7A=166

7A =49

A=7
