Using Natural Learning Styles to Discover the Joy of Learning
Hello Peyton,
First, take all the information and organize everyone's numbers:
Justin's number = 4 * 0.06
Parentheses and brackets help us do math operations in the right order.
Hayden's number = [(4 * 0.06) 4] - 0.04
Notice how Hayden's number depends on finding Justin's number. Do the operation in parentheses first so you can get Justin's number.
0.06
x 4
0.24
Note: you really don't need the 0 to the left of the decimal point, except as a place holder.
Now Hayden's number = [(0.24) 4] - 0.04
Now do the operation in brackets; Multiply 0.24 by 4
0.24
x 4
Then take whatever answer you get and subtract 0.04 from it. This will give you Hayden's number.
Hope this was helpful. :) Have a nice day.
