Converting moles to grams

How many grams of N2are produced from 100. g of NH3 in the following reaction?


4NH3(g)+ 6NO(g) →5N2(g) + 6H2O(l)

Thank you! When we were taught how to do this equation, we were told to use substance a and substance b when plugging the information into the equation. Therefore, at first I did NH and NO. So why here do you do NH and N?

In this problem since they don’t tell you how much NO is present so you must assume it is present in excess. It’s actually a poorly written question. Also note that the answer given has 4 sig figs but should be rounded to 206 g with 3 sig figs.

Agreed, it is a poorly worded question. When I wrote it out, I assumed that the NO was in excess and therefore, we wouldn't have to calculate for a limiting reagent.
