Figuring out Mole equations

How many grams of hydrogen are needed to produce 1.80 g of water according to this equation? 2H2+ O2→2H2O

sure thing! The 2nd step uses the equation that you were given. The equation says that for every 2 moles of H2, you get 2 moles of H2O. This means that you can use the equation as a conversion factor to get from moles of H2O into moles of H2 :) The third step is converting back to grams (from moles) of H2 using the periodic table. It's essentially the reverse of what we did in step 1.
