How much fencing is required?

Connor measured out an area in his back yard where he wanted to build a rabbit pen.  He marked the proposed corners with stones.  The dimensions of the pen were to be 11 feet by 10 feet.  He calculated that he would need 110 feet of fencing.  What error did he make? How much fencing would he really need?

He calculated the area. He is supposed to figure out the perimetr which is:

 

2*10 + 2*11 = 42 ft.

 

He needs 42 ft.
