An ice cream factory makes 140 quarts of ice cream in 10 hours. How many quarts could be made in 36 hours? What was that rate per day?

Use a proportion and cross multiply.
140/10=x/36
10x=5040
x=504 quarts in 36 hours
504/36=14 quarts per hour
14x24=336 quarts per day
