OK, Rachel.
The slopes between any two points of a linear function are the same. Remember that the slope is defined as the change in y, divided by the change in x.
That is: (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1).
So the slope between the first two points: (-4 - (-2))/(-2 - 2) = -2/(-4) = 1/2
And the slope between the last two points: (n- (-4))/(4 - (-2)) = (n+4)/6.
That means we have the equation: (n + 4)/6 = 1/2. Since 1/2 = 3/6, n+4 = 3, and n = -1.
That makes the points: (2, -2), (-2, -4), (4, -1).
