asked 10/30/18Solve the equation
Solve 300=600e^-0.00383t for t.

300 = 600e-0.00383t
OK, since t is up in the exponent of e, you know you're going to have to use a log (ln) at some point to get it out of the exponent. So let's do it.
300 = 600e-0.00383t
0.5 = e-0.00383t
Now's the time to use the natural log (base e):
ln(0.5) = ln(e-0.00383t)
ln(0.5) = -0.00383t
Can you take it from here?

Question: Solve 300=600e^-0.00383t for t.
Divide both sides by 600
300/600 = e^-0.00383t
e^ 0.00383 =1/2
To remove the "e" take the natural log of both sides
ln (300/600) = ln (e^-0.00383t)
the "e" cancels out
ln(0.5) = -0.00383t = -ln(2) }
t= ln(0.5)/ -0.00383
t = 180.978

Alesha, you were on the right track when you solved the equation using .5. Just repeat your math and use 300. You can do it.10/30/18
