Numbers of students: In a group of students, 12 are taking chemistry, 10 are taking physics, 3 are taking both chemistry and physics, and 5 are taking neither chemistry nor physics. How many students are in the group?

There are 5 students inside the rectangle but outside the overlapping circles.

There are 3 students in the overlap.

There are 7 in the one circle but outside the overlap (physics) and there are 9 students in the other circle but outside the overlap.
