I know that a sheet of paper is .1 milometers thick. I need to know how many sheets of paper stacked on top of each other would it take to be 1 kilometer thick. After that I need to know how many sheets of paper stacked on top of each other would it take to reach the moon if the moon is 239000 kilometers away from earth. I need this number in scientific notation.

1 km = 1 x 10⁶mm dividing the number of mm in 1 km by the thickness of the paper, we have (1x10⁶)/(1 x 10^-1)

subtracting exponents 6 - (-1) = 1x10⁷ pieces of paper = 1 km

The distance to the moon in Scientific notation is 2.39 x 10 ⁵ km in scientific notation.

So, multiply (1x 10 ⁷)(2.39x10⁵) = 2.39 x 10¹²
