We know she has 3 children and each child got two pieces of candy so 3 times 2 equals 6.
We also see that she the first two pieces so we have to add those 2 pieces of candy 6+2=8.
I am assuming the word "mom" was suppose to be "among". The problems "divided the rest" meaning there was no candy left.
Thus, the answer is 8.

c=2(3)+2 or 0=c=(2(3)+2)
