Therefore the product is =(2x) * 6
which is equal to 12x
11 times the number = 11x
The difference of 11x and 3/2 is = 11x - 3/2
Now equate the two solutions and solve for x

12x - 11x = 3/2
x = - 3/2
Prove by substituting x in the equation
12 * -3/2 = -18
11 * (-3/2) - (3/2) = -(33/2) - 3/2 = -18
