Calculate the mass of silicon?

Calculate the mass of silicon, in grams, that make up a computer chip that has the following dimensions (assuming it is solely made of silicon) and a density of 2.33g/cm^3. Area: 4.2x10^2 mm^2; thickness:5.6 mm.

Chip's volume:

 

4.2 x 10^2 = 420mm^2  x 5.6 mm = 2352 cubic mm  

 

Notice the density is 2.33g / cubic CENTIMETER...

 

 

Conver 2352 cubic mm to cubic cm:

 

2352 mm^3 * (1cm/10mm)^3 = 2352/1000 = 2.352 cm^3

 

m = v*d

 

m = 2.352 cm^3 (2.33g/cm^3) = 5.48016 g

 

 

Didn't ask for the correct number of significant figures, so I didn't worry about that.
